Yoga in the sky

An invigorating Hatha Yoga session with a breathtaking view over London

What better way to get yourself in the peaceful zone than yoga… in the clouds. We know what you’re thinking: sounds like heaven. When you’re there, it kind of feels like it, too!
From Saturday 7th March you can enjoy a calming yoga class accompanied with the scenic skyline view from London’s ArcelorMittal Orbit – the UK’s tallest sculpture made famous by the London 2012 Games. Every Saturday morning you’ll have the chance to cast your eyes over the stunning morning scenes of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and 20 miles of London views.
During the rejuvenating session of Hatha yoga, you’ll be focusing on posture, balancing the body and breathing as well as practising a range of relaxation techniques, and we can’t think of a better location than 80m up in the sky.
If you want to take some time out from everyday life to refresh both your mind and body, this will provide just that. Get your weekend off to a superb start and try out one of the classes led by instructor Rebecca Spooner:
Advanced session: 7am – 8:15am
Beginner’s session: 8:15am- 9:30am
The advanced class will include more challenging positions like the crow, splits, headstand, the wheel and half-moon. The beginners class is suitable for any newcomers or those who don’t practise regularly, with more simplistic poses such as child’s pose, tree, triangle, warrior and downward-facing dog. All classes will round off with a calming meditation session.
Prices are £17.50 each or £80 for a course of six. Yoga mats are provided and you’ll receive an exciting goody bag, too!
